A clear and coherent body paragraph generally follows this order:

• Example/Evidence: Support the point with a concrete illustration.
• Linking Sentence: Summarize or connect the idea to the essay’s overall argument or to the next paragraph.

Band 7 Example:

[Point] When cities prioritize trains and buses over new roads, fewer cars are needed, decreasing carbon emissions and travel time. [Explain] For instance, in Singapore, expanding the metro system has lowered private car use while improving air quality. • This paragraph has clear internal logic: point → explain → example → link. The idea flows smoothly and remains focused, showing Band 7 coherence and cohesion.

1. Plan before you write
   Decide what one idea each paragraph will cover. Avoid mixing multiple arguments together.
2. Follow the PEEL framework
