1 年GCSE

於英國中學學制，GCSE 是14-15歲同學會考8-10科完成的2年課程。1年GCSE考5科：英文、數學、2科理科及地理或歷史。一般情況，同學會按GCSE成績選擇A level科目。完成2年A level，升大學。1年GCSE適合以下對象：

• 讀完中四，9月開學未夠16歲（仍然是15歲）的同學
• 讀完中三，9月開學滿15歲的同學

1.希望為自己創造條件考6所英國著名大學的同學

2.希望曠闊大學選修理工科可能性的同學

本地中學對於同學的career education以升讀本地大學為中心，因此，同學選科多從拿高分的角度計算，忽略了解選讀某些選修科可以曠闊自己大學主修或為將來建立基礎的長遠思維。利用單一思維選科的問題在於：

• 數理選修科只有1科或成績不好就Drop，請看：英國大學入學要求，您會知道什麼理工科需要選修2門理科。沒有M1或M2或理科，可能要透過英國Foundation或International Year 1 ,升讀英國大學的理工科，甚至Accounting & Finance.

• 選科不夠多元化，因為本地大學看Best 5成績，某些情況才會按個別選修科成績加weighting，很多同學選了經濟和BAFS，兩科類近，但英國著名大學都認為經濟和Business太類似，不會收。

所以，1年GCSE英、數、2門理科是必修，然後再加1科文科，這個組合讓您有足夠機會認識自己及學科本質，才決定A level安排，同時為您帶來不同大學主修的可行性。

3.某些學系如：英國讀醫，如果同學有GCSE成績會用來篩選面試對象指標之一。

• 如果同學沒有GCSE，面試篩選就只按英國讀醫入學考試成績，少了一個指標。

• IB：課程結構全面，點開文章會了解到IB選科策略、IB分數入大學等有用資料。IB鼓勵學生獨立思考，適合愛發問及多角度思考、收集跟自己學術興趣有關的資料、資料整合能力及時間分配能力非常高的同學。

• A level：選科彈性又多，內文有A level選科及大學主修選擇的關係。

• BTEC：BTEC從功課及實習而非考試得分，比A level高3倍機會有A，認受性和A level看齊, 可以申請Russell Group大學,歡迎點擊內文了解。

• 英國Foundation：適合不想再考公開試，知道自己想讀什麼主修的同學，內文有2種英國Foundation、哪些英國大學有Foundation、哪7間英國大學不收Foundation要A level同學？哪些情況不應該選Foundation等。

• 英國大專學院 HNC：課程認受性等於大一，完成升讀相關主修大二課程，再轉到英國Top Up Degree，學位成本比在英國大學平30%左右，而且早2年畢業，適合某些專業及財政比較緊張的同學。
