Adelaide University Medicine Highlights
- Duration of degree is 6 years
- Students are required to finish a Bachelor of Medical Studies and then progress to Doctor of Medicine
- As long as applicant meet academic requirement, interview shortlisting will be done solely on UCAT ANZ
- Applicants must be either high school graduate or Adelaide University Bachelor of Medical Studies Year 1 or 2 students with GPA 5 out of 7 to apply.
- Students with bachelor degrees from other universities will not be qualified to apply for Adelaide University 3 year Doctor of Medicine degree.
- Students studying at Adelaide University will also need to meet high school academic requirements, but gets 2 more chances to take UCAT ANZ

Adelaide University Medicine Clinical Placement & Curriculum Highlights
a. Where is it going to take place?
The clinical placements occur across a variety of settings, including primary care, rural and community-based clinics, outreach, allied health, research institutes, and both regional and tertiary hospitals. The University of Adelaide has an agreement with Minister for Health to have the clinical placements in SA Health facilities. Apart from SA Health facilities, the placement may also take place at Adelaide Rural Clinical School and the locations are listed as below:

b. What are SA Health facilities like?

c. How is clinical placement going to be for the students?
The clinical placement will take place from Year 3 to Year 6 with its own focus as below:
- Year 3
- clinical exposure with experiences in primary and hospital care settings
- Year 4
- general medicine and surgery, mental health, musculoskeletal issues, cancer and palliative care
- Year 5
- full-time clinical placements in Adelaide or undertake an extended rural placement at one of the six rural clinical sites
- explore child health, obstetrics and gynaecology, general practice, geriatrics and anaesthesia
- have opportunities to work with First Nations or disadvantaged communities
- Year 6
- extended undertake pre-internship, selective professional, and research and scholarship placements
d. What is the course structure?
The Bachelor of Medical Studies and Doctor of Medicine is a six-year integrated program and the below is the focus of each year:
- Year 1 - Bachelor of Medical Studies
- fundamental knowledge of biomedical science

- patient contact with the opportunity to experience the health care system
- Year 2 - Bachelor of Medical Studies
- clinical problems
- the science of medicine
- develop clinical skills in diagnosis and management

- Year 3 - Bachelor of Medical Studies
- undertake first clinical placements

Adelaide University Medicine Interview 2027
If the applicants are eligible for an interview, the applicants will be able to book the interview via the Admissions@Adelaide system in early September. Timeslots will be offered on a first come, first served basis. The booking confirmation and Zoom link will be sent within 24 hours of booking. All interviews will be held online over Zoom. The interview will be 15 minutes in length and will be conducted by an experienced interviewer.
